Mark Zuckerberg

 

Mark Elliot Zuckerberg was born on May 14th, 1984 in White Plains, New York. His father is a dentist named Edward Zuckerberg and his mother is a psychiatrist named Karen Kempner. He has three sisters, Randi, Arielle and Donna. Mark married Priscilla Chan on May 19th, 2012. The couple have a child named Maxima Chan Zuckerberg who was born on Desember 1st, 2015.

Zuckerberg went to Arsley high school, he excelled in classess. Then, he transferred to Phillips Exeter Academy. On his college application, he claimed that he can read and write French, Hebrew, Latin, and ancient Greek. By the time he started studying at Harvard, he already achieved a reputation as programming prodigy. In his sophomore year, he wrote a program he called CourseMatch, a program that allowed users to make class selection based on the choices of other students and also help them to form a study group.

Zuckerberg then created a program he called Facemash that let the students select the best looking person from a choice of photos. The site went up over a weekend, but the college shut it down because its popularity had overwhelmed one of Harvard’s network switches. Many students also complained because Zuckerberg used their photos for Facemash without their permission, and Zuckerberg apologized publicly.

On February 2004, Zuckerberg launched facebook from his dormitory room in at Harvard. Zuckerberg’s facebook was just a “Harvard thing” until he decided to spread it out to other school with help from his roommate named Dustin Moskovitz. They started with Columbia, New York University, Stanford, Dartmouth, Cornell, Penn, Brown, and Yale.

Then, Zuckerberg along with Moskovitz and some of their friends moved to Palo Alto, California. They rented a small house as their office. Over the summer, Zuckerberg met Peter Thiel who invested in the company. They got their first office in the middle of 2004. According to Zuckerberg, they planned to returned to Harvard but finally they decided to remain in California.

On July 21st, 2010, Zuckerberg reported that the company reached 500 milion users. On the early 2009, Mark Zuckerberg got Young Global Leaders award. On 2015, according to Forbes Zuckerberg’s total assets was 35.7 billion dollars which nominated him as the richest young man in the world.

*Clear mission

Having a clear and good mission is very influential on your business. This is one of the factors of Facebook's success.

Sourced from Business Insider, for Zuckerberg the mission is as important as the business itself. When he owned Facebook, he had a social mission to make the world more open and connected.

With a focus on developing missions and services, Zuckerberg believes that his business will continue to be noticed by the public.

*Take every opportunity

The founder of Facebook is always taking the opportunities that are in front of him. As if not afraid of failure, Mark Zuckerberg chose to do a lot of experiments while leading Facebook.

For him, failure doesn't mean you can't be successful. From these failures, there are many lessons to be learned.

By doing an evaluation, you can be better prepared if you experience the same problem.

*Have great curiosity

Continuing to be curious and curious about many things makes Mark Zuckerberg always learning.

Zuckerberg, launched from Business Insider, has a hobby of reading books. The books he reads are quite weighty and suitable for discussion.
